AZAMARA JOURNEY INFORMATION

Forgo the crowds and experience a voyage tailor-made for today's discerning traveler aboard Journey. In addition to butler service in each suite, Journey affords her guests more verandas than most cruise ships, so you can watch the world melt away into the fiery sunset. Journey also features two specialty restaurants, concierge amenities, our Spa and Wellness Center, a coffee café, a piano bar and a wine bar, live entertainment, daily enrichment programs (like wine and champagne tasting), and this is only her short list.

ABOUT AZAMARA CLUB CRUISES

Azamara is the new, up-market cruise experience for discerning travelers who long to reach out-of-the-ordinary destinations and indulge in amenities and service unparalleled on the high seas. The unique offerings of Azamara are beyond compare: butler service is provided in every suite; the shore excursions (Azamara prefers to call them shore immersions), are designed to let guests become part of the fabric of life in each destination, instead of merely being an observer; the enrichment programs offer everything from culinary to photographic explorations; the two specialty restaurants provide the finest cuisine at sea; live entertainment can be enjoyed nightly; and the level of service offered is unmatched.

Azamara Club Cruises consists of two intimate ships, Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. Each can carry 694 fortunate guests to discover the hidden corners of the world that larger cruise ships simply cannot reach. In addition to offering a more personalized experience, the ships have recently undergone a $17.5 million revitalization with new European bedding and soft goods, flat screen televisions, new veranda decking and furniture, and wireless internet service in all staterooms and public areas. Plus, 93% of the staterooms offer ocean views and 68% have a private veranda.

You may be wondering where the name Azamara comes from. Azamara is a coined term derived from the Romance languages. This includes the more obvious links to blue (az) and the sea (mar). The name was also inspired by a star, Acamar. In Classical times, the star Acamar was the most southern bright star that could be seen from the latitude of Greece. Azamara Club Cruises is a star on the blue sea. This flowing name conjures up the imagery of magnificent journeys around the world. And Azamara looks forward to sharing these voyages with you.

Bars and Lounges

Bars and Lounges on the Azamara Journey

Discoveries Lounge

Located just outside Azamara’s main restaurant, this congenial bar is a favorite gathering place for pre- and post-dinner conversation and drinks. Bar service includes a full selection of fine wines, mixed drinks, and premium spirits…plus the entertaining banter of Azamara’s friendly bartenders.

Mosaic Cafe and Mosaic@Night

This centrally located coffee and tea bar is a favorite onboard hub, and chances are you’ll find yourself here frequently. Want to grab a quick bite before heading off the ship in the morning? Head by the Mosaic for a steaming latte and fresh baked baby quiches (very addictive).

In the afternoon the Mosaic Café attracts friendly competitors for trivia and board games and tea-time sandwiches, sweets, and savory bites.

And after dinner, Mosaic@Night is a great place to socialize while enjoying live music and a selection of fine liqueurs.

Looking Glass Lounge

Floor to ceiling views and Murano glass lighting set the mood for this elegant evening club featuring live music or DJs spinning favorite hits. Head to the dance floor, or settle in at the beautiful bar. (You’ll be impressed by the bartenders’ mixology skills.)

Occasionally the Looking Glass features special local dance and musical troupe performances.

This venue also plays host to culinary classes and other onboard demonstrations..

Cabaret Lounge

Enjoy live performances of professional full-stage musical revues, classical soloists, bands and other entertainment in a cabaret nightclub with a full bar and cozy tables. You could see as many as three distinctly different shows while onboard. And considering the cost of theater and entertainment tickets back home, isn’t that nice?

Entertainment

Entertainment on the Azmara Journey

Test your skill, or prove to your shipmates that beginner's luck is real. The Casino will keep you entertained with blackjack, roulette, slot machines, and three-card poker games.

The Casino accepts payment by key card, cash, credit card, travelers checks and foreign currency.

Poolside Parties

Don’t think of missing Azamara’s famous poolside buffet and party, held at least once on every cruise (weather permitting). Colorful décor and linen-draped tables, a fabulous buffet feast, and boutique wines on the house make this an event like no other. Dance late into the night as the live band kicks in after dinner.

Enrichment Classes

Add to your knowledge with a wide variety of entertaining and interesting enrichment programs. Schedules are available on Azamara TV and the daily newsletter.

Programs include:

Browse the collection and feel free to borrow the library books. Don’t miss the gorgeous collection of lifestyle and travel books by Assouline, which you can purchase for delivery back home.

The Drawing Room turns into a gorgeous dining room on the evening of the elegant Best of the Best dinner for Owner’s Suite guests.

E-Connections (Internet Cafe)

It’s easy to stay in touch while on your voyage. In eConnections you’ll find a number of computer stations and 24-hour access to Internet and email.

To sign in, you’ll need to purchase an Internet-only or Internet-and-Phone package (neither package includes cell phone charges).

WiFi service is available throughout most of the ship at an additional cost.

The 21 year or older guest does not have to a parent or guardian of the person who is under 21. Connecting staterooms are counted as different staterooms for this policy, except minors sailing with their parents or legal guardians in adjacent cabins. Adjacent cabins are defined as staterooms that are physically directly need door or directly across the hall – the doors to the staterooms have to to be in the same hallway to one another.

Any minor, 17 and under at the start of the cruise, who is not travelling with at least one of their parents/legal guardian(s) will only be permitted to board the ship and undertake the cruise if accompanied by a person(s) over the age of twenty-one (21).

The minor(s) will require written authorisation from a parent/legal guardian that they are permitted to travel with the person(s) over 21.

Adults who are not the parent or legal guardian of any minor aged 17 or under travelling with them are required to present the minor's valid passport and applicable visa (or for domestic Australian sailings a certified copy of minor's birth certificate) and an original legally affirmed or notarised letter signed by at least one of the minors parents/legal guardians. The letter must authorise the travelling adult to take the minor on the specified cruise and must authorise the travelling adult to supervise the minor, sign applicable sports waivers and permit any medical treatment that must be administered to the minor which in the opinion of the treating doctor needs to be carried out without delay. A letter can be legally affirmed or notarised by a practising solicitor, notary or commissioner for oaths who may charge a fee for this service. If such evidence is not produced, the minor(s) concerned will not be permitted to board the ship or undertake the cruise.

Please note that a parent(s)/legal guardian travelling with a minor who has a different surname to the parent(s)/legal guardian, will be required to produce official proof such as a full birth certificate/divorce papers etc to prove that they are parent(s)/legal guardian of the minor(s) concerned.

Individual staterooms can be booked for married couples who minimum age are eighteen (18) (proof of marriage is required at the time of booking).

The price of your chosen cruise will be confirmed at the time of booking. After your booking is confirmed but before final payment is received, we will only increase the price if there is an increase in the cost of any transport included in the price and/or in any dues, taxes or fees payable for any services (for examples – port taxes or charges of any sort). We will not ask you to pay more within 30 days or departure. In addition, we will pay the first part of any such increase(s) in costs up to a total amount equivalent to 2% of the cost of your confirmed cruise (excluding any insurance premiums and amendment charges). Only if any such increase(s) exceeds this 2% we will ask you to pay more. Any such invoice must be paid within 7 days if rendered within 70 days of sailing. Any charges or fees of this nature are a matter strictly between the guest and their travel agent.

Changing Your Booking

Subject to Price Changes and availability, some changes (excluding changes to ship or sailing date), can be made to your booking. You may request via your travel agent up to 45 days before departure. We will make every effort to meet your change request; however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to make any requested change. Up to 45 days before departure an administration fee of A$50 per booking will be payable for each change requested. If you request a change within 45 days of departure, this will be treated as a cancellation of your original booking and cancellation charges as set out in these terms and conditions will be payable. The changed arrangements will then be treated as a new booking.

If you or any of the people travelling with you are prevented from taking the cruise you/they may give you/their place on the booking to someone else (suggested by you). This situation, providing we are given not less than 14 days notice in writing of your wish to make the change, we will permit the name change on payment of an administration fee of A$50. A maximum of only one passenger name may be changed per stateroom. You must produce documentary proof of the reason for the transfer with the request (e.g. a letter from a doctor). You must ensure that the administration fee and any charges/costs – as well as any amount which is still due to be paid for this cruise – as paid in full as required. We reserve the right to cancel the booking if any changes remain outstanding.

Travel Insurance

All guests must obtain appropriate personal travel insurance at the time you book your cruise, which includes a minimum cover for the cost of cancellation of your cruise, the cost of assistance including repatriation in the event of an accident or illness and the cost of medical treatment in the onboard medical centre.
